Malcolm Staples of Malcolm’s Custom Made To Fit is one of the premier bespoke custom clothier’s in the Washington DC metropolitan area. This highly acclaimed tailor believes in leaving no stone unturned and providing ultra luxury services as the norm not the exception.

Malcolm lives by the old adage, “do what you love, and it never feels like work”. It was this inspiration that steered him to leave a six -figure corporate job to become a custom designer and entrepreneur. Heavily influenced by his grandfather, a man of style who he described as the best dressed man he has ever seen, Staples fashion vision has been inspired by the 1950s era attributing his distinctive appeal and vintage flavor as a connection to this time period.

Known for his perfectly tailored suits for both men and women, he has dressed clients globally. His clients include a host of celebrities, media personalities, politicians, clergy, professional athletes and entertainers and other business professionals.  Notable clients Bishop TD Jake’s, Basketball Hall of Famer, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Draymond Green of the NBA Golden State Warriors.

Staples work has appeared and been featured in a number of publications such as Essence, Black Enterprise, Upscale and Modern Luxury. In 2020 until the present alone, his collection has graced the cover of several national publications including Malvie Magazine, MoevirMagazine, Mob Journal,  IMirage, Top Posters,  Soiree Magazine, LUXIA, ⁴Full Bloom Magazine,  Copa Style Magazine, Enspire Magazine, Beyond Your Frame Magazine, I- Magazine, Fashion Ave News Magazine, Style and Soul Magazine and Style Magazine NYC.

In 2009, Staples launched Malcolm’s Custom Made To Fit. His first job was to design suits for a few NFL athletes including his nephew LaMarr Woodley be of the Pittsburgh Steelers. In 2013 he dressed the hosts of the Miss Universe Pageant, Thomas Roberts of MSNBC and Spice Girl, Mel B broadcast around the world from Moscow, Russia.

2019-2020 was a very good year as he showcased his work during NYFW, Atlanta Live @Superbowl, DC Fashion Week, Men’s Fashion Week Virginia, the Tim Reid International Culture Fashion Showcase. He won a prestigious Fashion Oscar and the winner of the Fashion and Beauty Olympics Designer Showcase sponsored by Fashion Avenue News Magazine.

A native of Saginaw, MI  and now a residence of WashingtonDC graduate of Eastern Michigan University and the International Academy of Design and Technology.He is a postgraduate of the Harvard Business School, Harvard University. Staples has gained a reputation of producing upper echelon garments for discerning men and women.
